ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — All-star pitcher Clay Buchholz of the banged-up Boston Red Sox is going on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained left hamstring.
Buchholz, 10-4 with a 2.45 ERA in 15 starts this season, is expected to be at next week’s All-Star Game but will not participate.
Buchholz was hurt while running the bases June 26 in San Francisco. The right-hander could return to the rotation right after the all-star break.
