A fugitive from Denver was caught in Enid, Okla., early Saturday when he failed to use a turn signal twice and was pulled over by a state trooper.
Rickey David Hunter, 50, offered a fake driver’s license with a picture that did not look like him, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
But inside his wallet was also his expired real license.
Hunter walked away from a minimum security detention facility last year. The Department of Corrections did not provide the name of the facility.
Hunter pleaded guilty to theft of $1,000 to $20,000 in Denver in 2007. Before his escape, he would have been eligible for parole in December, according to the Department of Corrections.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Rickey Hunter was pulled over by a trooper in Enid about 2:30 a.m. Saturday.
Hunter then failed a field-sobriety test and was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
He also will face driving under the influence and other charges in Oklahoma in addition to being extradited to Colorado.
