WATERLOO, Ontario — Queen Elizabeth II on Monday toured the headquarters of BlackBerry-maker Research in Motion, where co-chief executive officer Mike Lazaridis presented the 84-year-old monarch with a BlackBerry.

She was to dine with the prime minister on the last day of her nine-day visit to Canada.

The queen today heads to New York, her first visit there in 34 years. She will visit the site of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and address the U.N. General Assembly. She was 31 years old when she last addressed the United Nations in 1957 — four years after she was crowned queen and a little more than a decade after the organization officially came into existence.
