COLORADO SPRINGS — A Colorado Springs man almost died on the Fourth of July when his homemade “fireworks launcher” exploded, police said.
The man’s name and age have not been released. He sustained life-threatening internal injuries when he was hit with shrapnel from the device, which exploded about 8:30 p.m. in the backyard of a home at 1401 Calvert Ave.
