Three people in a car were badly hurt in a collision with an RTD bus at West Colfax Avenue and Osage Street on Monday.

The bus was turning south onto Osage when it was struck by the car, a Buick sedan, traveling east, Denver police said.

“At this point, we’re still trying to determine who’s at fault,” police spokesman Sonny Jackson said an hour after the crash, which occurred about 8 p.m.

Neither the driver of the No. 7 bus nor the lone passenger aboard was injured. Two people in the car were transported to Denver Health Medical Center in critical condition, and one was in serious condition, Jackson said. Their names were not released.

Regional Transportation District spokeswoman Daria Serna said the bus was operated by a contractor, First Transit.
