LITTLETON, Colo.—The swimming beach at Chatfield State Park has reopened after a one-day closure because of E. coli bacteria.
The beach at the suburban Denver park closed on Sunday after tests showed E. coli levels exceeded state standards.
The beach reopened Monday after new tests show the levels had fallen to within the state standard.
There were no reports of anyone being sickened by the bacteria.
Officials say the E. coli readings could have been caused by high temperatures or by heavy runoff that carried the bacteria into the reservoir.
