Kirstan Morris of Fort Collins is the recipient of this week’s $25 gift card to REI for her creative way of displaying her family’s treasured photos: trip photo place mats.
“This past month, our family took a vacation to Yellowstone, and I printed off a slew of extra prints when I made my run to Walgreens for our trip pictures. After taping together two 8-by-11 pieces of paper for each of the four place mats, I spent an hour cutting and pasting collages of photos all over each mat. I decorated both sides of each mat to make a total of eight picture collages.
“A quick run to Kinkos the next day for some laminating, and I have eight conversation starters that get the four of us reminiscing at every meal. The pics of those two grizzly bears we saw in Yellowstone never fail to elicit questions during playdates!”
