DENVER—A Denver condominium association is accused of discriminating against families with children under the age of 18.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development said Thursday that it charged the Windsor Gardens Association with violating the Fair Housing Act.
HUD officials said the association maintained restrictions and had advertisements that said children 17 and younger could not live at its condos. The association also had restrictions that prohibited those younger than 50 from living there.
Windsor Gardens Association officials did not return a message.
HUD said the association does not meet the federal definition as housing for seniors only, which would allow age restrictions.
