COLORADO SPRINGS — A Colorado Springs teenager has received a life sentence for the killing of a disabled man in what a judge called “murder for sport.”
Kyle Sebastian Stott, 19, was convicted Friday of the January 2009 murder of Jason Holley, a 22-year-old developmentally disabled man whose body was found near a hiking trail west of Colorado Springs.
District Judge Deborah Grohs sentenced Stott to life in prison without parole. Stott’s brother-in-law, Derek Lee Hernandez, also faces charges in the death. Hernandez is scheduled to face trial in August.
