DENVER—Colorado’s July heat wave is continuing for another day.
Highs are expected to soar to around 100 degrees in parts of the state on Monday.
The National Weather Service says the high in Denver will be 96, less than the record of 101. Cloud cover kept temperatures from rising as high as expected earlier in the day.
It’s forecast to be even hotter elsewhere in the state.
A high of 107 is expected for Lamar on the Eastern Plains.
Near record temperatures are also expected in Grand Junction, where the high could reach 100 degrees again. The temperature has been in the triple digits there for the last four days. The record for 100-degree days there is 12 days in row, set back in 2003.
