Denver Children’s Home and the Family and Senior Homeless Initiative received the first Heart of Denver Awards at a reception that also marked the 120th anniversary of Elitch Gardens. The Denver Health Foundation’s Level One Society announced that its focus this year is to raise funds and awareness for the new child and adolescent psychiatric unit scheduled to open in summer 2011, and Mental Health America of Colorado had a get-together at the Governor’s Residence to introduce Don and Patty Cook, who will be honored at MHAC’s signature fundraiser, Tribute 2010, which is Sept. 29 at the Sheraton Denver Downtown.
