MUNCIE, Ind.—A Colorado man detained in Pakistan last month while on a mission to hunt down Osama bin Laden has accepted an Indiana man’s painting honoring his attempts to bring the al-Qaida leader to justice.
Gary Faulkner accepted the painting Monday that Jerry Cool says he painted after he had a dream in 2008 in which “a man with gray hair and a dark beard” kills bin Laden.
The Muncie resident says he knew he should give Faulkner the painting when he saw the bearded, gray-haired Greeley, Colo., man on the “Late Show With David Letterman” June 28 discussing his attempts to capture bin Laden.
Faulkner was held in Pakistan for several days in June after he was found with weapons and told officials he was out to kill bin Laden.
