LARAMIE, Wyo.—A Laramie City Council member says he doesn’t plan to grow medical marijuana on a Colorado farm he is buying, but is working to preserve the land use rights.
Scott Mullner addressed his purchase of the 67-acre farm in Boulder County, Colo., during a council meeting Tuesday.
Mullner says he applied to change the zoning because the county recently passed regulations prohibiting medical marijuana operations in agriculturally zoned areas.
Mullner says he’s buying the property as an investment and wants to preserve the “right for any future owner of this property to have that use attached or pertinent to this property.”
Some neighbors have raised concerns the prospect of a marijuana farm in the area.
