FORT COLLINS, Colo.—A Fort Collins forester says it will cost thousands of dollars to replace 19 trees that were hacked down at a new city park.
The ash, oak and honey locust trees were destroyed Tuesday night and workers are working to remove them from the Spring Canyon Community Park. City Forester Ralph Zentz says the scene resembled a “battlefield” with so many severed trees. He says it will cost about $500 to replace each tree.
He says police are aware of what happened but there are no suspects yet.
