Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper announced Thursday he is appointing Eric Tade as fire chief to replace Jim Sestrich, who will retire Sept. 30.
Tade, 38, will be paid $149,997 annually, the same as Sestrich and the amount specified in Denver’s revised municipal code. Tade joined the fire department in 1992 and has been a firefighter, lieutenant, captain and most recently the assistant fire chief.
