Search and rescue crews found the aircraft and body of a missing pilot from Colorado in Canada this morning.
The wreckage was found at 10 a.m. about 80 miles southeast of Norman Wells, in the North West Territories, where Terry Johnson, 75, had departed from on his solo flight.
Johnson was an experienced pilot from Longmont who was in Canada with family for a canoeing and fishing trip at the time.
He was flying a Beechcraft Bonanza single-engine plane.
He last reported to air traffic personnel on Saturday about 30 miles away from Norman Wells. He was scheduled to check in again over Fort Simpson, farther south, but never did.
The search crews, which included the Canadian Coast Guard and Rescue Association volunteers, have been looking for him since then.
Johnson founded MiniScribe, a multimillion-dollar disc-drive company in the 1980s as a basement startup.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
