Lafayette Police and Boulder County SWAT members have arrested a man who was in a standoff threatening to hurt himself today.
Just after 2 p.m., Lafayette Police were called to the 800 block of East Cleveland Street on a report of a family disturbance.
When officers arrived, family members told police that Kent Wilson, 34, had assaulted an elderly family member, and was now alone in the home with the knife and threatening to hurt himself.
Police and SWAT were able to talk to Wilson and got him out of the home safely in about a half an hour.
Wilson was charged with third degree assault on an at-risk adult, a felony charge. He is also charged with harassment physical contact and harassment taunts, both misdemeanors.
The elderly person who was injured will be OK, said Mark Battersby, a spokesperson for Lafayette Police.
