A lightning strike at about 6:15 p.m. has temporarily shut down southbound light rail.

Bus service ran to each station until light rail service was restored about 7:30 p.m.

The outage affected stations from Southmoor to Lincoln station.

Scott Reed, spokesman for RTD said to restore service, crews had to go reset the power and settings at all substations.

A severe storm over the south part of the metro area that is moving south has flood advisories in effect for Arapahoe County including southern Denver, and Douglas County until 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. respectively.

Frank Cooper, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service said this should be the last of the more severe storms for tonight.
