The 23rd annual Gunnison Car Show will take place Aug. 20-22. The RevTones will kick off the Friday event, which runs 5-9 p.m.. The full car show runs 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. Any vehicle is welcome, but there is a registration fee for participating cars. Admission is free.

Beaver Creek’s Vertical Ascent.

The Vertical Ascent Running Race, held on Beaver Creek Mountain on Aug. 21, is a six-hour, leg-burning trail running race, offered in team and individual categories. Run or hike up the mountain, then ride the chairlift down, completing as many laps as possible within six hours.

Copper Mountain festival.

Copper Country, a free Labor Day festival, celebrates the best of the American spirit. Live music, Copper Country Arts Festival, kids crafts, the Copper Kids’ Corral, mechanical bull rides, a petting zoo and pony rides all can be found at the three-day event, running Sept. 3-5.

Go Celtic in Estes Park.

The Longs Peak Scottish Festival will take place in Estes Park on Sept. 9 through 12. Events include a parade, pipe bands, Highland and Irish dance competitions, folk music, the International Jousting Championships, nightly concerts and more.

Palisade wine celebration.

The Colorado Mountain Winefest’s Saturday in the Park event will take place Sept. 18 in Palisade. Come enjoy wine tastings, wine competitions, live music, a grape stomp and more. The event runs 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
