Wondering what to do on a Monday night, and think you might have what it takes to be a rock star? Test your skills at — one of Colorado’s oldest blues bars — on their Musical Anarchy Mondays, and let the supportive crowd decide.
Hosted by singer/songwriter Terry Gulley, the glorified open-mic night on West 38th Avenue offers an eclectic mix of songs, ranging from Kenny Rogers to Pearl Jam. On the flipside: If you know that you don’t have what it takes to get on stage, you can sit back for a $1 PBR or some pool while you listen to the people who do have the guts to get up there.
Earl, the bartender, knows when you need a refill long before you do, and the crowd is there to encourage your musical talent. Wish you had a drummer to go along with your tune? Art, the house drummer, is happy to oblige.
Highlights of this evening? Performers like Jonathan C., Mitch Gillespie and the house drummer himself, along with his wife. A little bit of covers, a lot of originals, and a ton of “talent.”
What else are you going to do on a Monday night?
