Rescuers have recovered the body of a 46-year-old Eagle County man who is thought to have drowned while boating on Wolford Mountain Reservoir.
R.T. Gonsoir had been camping Saturday at Wolford with his girlfriend and two daughters.
He reportedly dove from his motor boat Saturday into 15-20 feet of water at the north end of the reservoir to reach his 9-year-old daughter, who was swimming.
The man thought his daughter was in distress, according to Grand County Sheriff Rod Johnson.
Nearby boaters rescued the daughter, but the father was not seen again, Johnson said.
Surface water temperatures that day were about 71 degrees.
