Denver Public Schools is one of 49 finalists chosen out of 1,700 applicants for a federal Investment in Innovation fund and could receive up to $25 million to help students learn to read. The district will learn today the exact amount and will have until Sept. 8 to find a 20 percent private match to secure the federal grant.
The district is among the 15 applicants who won “validation awards of up to $30 million” for growing a program with emerging evidence of success, according to wire reports.
