LCD Soundsystem, the moniker for New York producer, songwriter and DFA label head James Murphy, has stubbornly stuck to its dance-rock guns over the years, enticing critics and clubgoers with irresistibly disco- draped beats. The band hit its previous Colorado pinnacle by opening for the Arcade Fire at Red Rocks in 2007, and now the group will headline its own big show at the 3,600-person capacity Fillmore Auditorium on Oct. 20, with similarly synth-happy imports Hot Chip. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($40, )

Lady Antebellum rocked a packed Comfort Dental Amphitheatre last week opening for Tim McGraw, and the Grammy-winning Nashville trio is returning for a Nov. 3 concert at the Fillmore as part of its “Need You Now” 2010 tour. Tickets for the show, with opener David Nail, are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($36.50, )

Bret Michaels is the most eye-catching name announced for the entertainment stages at the 27th annual A Taste of Colorado in Civic Center, which takes place Sept. 3-6. Also joining the Poison frontman and quasi-reality TV star are the Groove Hawgs, the musical incarnation of Rick Lewis and Michael Floorwax of 103.5 The Fox, the Four Tops, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Dave Mason, Steve Azar, Gregg Rolie Band and more on the four music stages located throughout the grounds. Food tickets will cost you $5 for a strip of 8, but the music and people-watching are blissfully free. Visit for more information.

“Last Comic Standing Live” brings that NBC show’s battle-of-the-comics vibe to the University of Denver’s June Swaner Gates Concert Hall in the Newman Center for the Performing Arts on Jan. 8, featuring the top five finalists from the current seventh season. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. today. ($29.50-$37.50, Ticketmaster)

Sonic Youth never fails to give Denver some love, as the long-running art-rock act will do when it headlines the Ogden Theatre on Oct. 4. Tickets are on sale now ($27.25-$30, Ticketmaster). Also announced for the Ogden this week: The Cult with Black Ryder (Sept. 25, $35-$40), the Sword with Karma to Burn and Mount Carmel (Oct. 6, $10-$16), Paul Oakenfold with Chuckie, Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano (Oct. 28, $35-$40) and Sara Bareilles with Cary Brothers (Nov. 15, $20-$25). All shows are on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster.

The Apples in Stereo, the Denver-bred indie-pop band currently based out of Kentucky, will return to the Bluebird Theater on Oct. 22 to promote the hook-laden new album “Travellers in Space and Time,” with opener Fol Chen. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($13-$18, Ticketmaster.)
