Getting your player ready...
Look out Tiger, here come Lefty and Lee. Beginning today, the World Golf Championship-Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio, will afford Mickelson and Westwood an opportunity to overtake Woods as the world’s top-ranked player. A victory by either would snap Woods’ run as king of the hill for 270 consecutive weeks. At a minimum, Mickelson could finish as low as fourth and will claim the top spot if Woods finishes out of the top 37. Woods has struggled, but be aware that he has won seven times at Firestone and never finished lower than fourth in a PGA Tour event there.
