A multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 70 west of the Eisenhower Tunnel has closed the interstate’s westbound traffic lanes.
Colorado Department of Transportation spokesman Brian Jordan said that numerous vehicles and at least one truck are involved.
He said the accident occurred about 2 p.m.
The accident occurred two miles east of Silverthorne on part of the steep descent I-70 makes between the tunnel and the mountain town.
Jordan said westbound traffic is being rerouted over Loveland Pass.
