TUCSON, Ariz.—An estimated 2,000 people attended Friday’s memorial service in Tucson for the crew killed in last week’s medical helicopter crash.
Pilot Alex Kelley, paramedic Brenda French and flight nurse Parker Summons died in the crash on Tucson’s north side.
The LifeNet helicopter had undergone routine maintenance in Marana and was en route to its home base in Douglas when it crashed into a backyard fence and burst into flames.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating and the helicopter’s wreckage has been taken to Phoenix for further inspection. LifeNet Arizona’s parent company is Colorado-based Air Methods.
