At the Movies

Kick up your heels

“Step Up 3D” is the newest dance movie for the Gen-Y crowd. Honestly, if you can still move the way these dancers do, you can’t possibly be old enough to buy tickets to the show. PG-13.

To serve and protect?

“The Other Guys” don’t serve and protect. This comedy features two mismatched, knuckleheaded cops who, when together, equal less than the sum of their parts. Starring Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg and Eva Mendes. PG-13.

Homebodies

Wedgie alert

The kids-book phenomenon comes to the big screen in “Diary of a Wimpy Kid,” now out on DVD. Greg, in his torturous sixth-grade year, decides to scheme his way through the indignities of middle school while recording the antics in his “diary.” PG.

Don’t try this at home

In “Kick-Ass,” an average high-school student simply decides to become a superhero — green cape and souped-up car included. No skills, no experience? No problem. R. Monnie Nilsson, The Denver Post
