Join competitors in the third annual Park Hill Alley Art competition. Paintings, sculptures, installations and other types of art must be in residential alleys, or in public places. Prizes include a custom piece by stained-glass artist David Wilson. Boost your odds of winning by making your original work ironic, unconventional, funny or surprising. Winners will be announced Sept. 19 at the Park Hill Home Tour.

Did you know that Harrison Ford, celebrated for creating the Han Solo and Indiana Jones characters, is also a pilot? He narrated and stars in “Wings Over The Rockies,” a short film about flying. It screens now through October at the museum’s fancy new theater.

Youthzone, a Roaring Fork Valley nonprofit that helps young people, is near the end of its month-long unconventional fundraiser. Teams from Glenwood Springs to Aspen collect donations; each dollar represents a vote. The team with the most votes wins the prize: a kiss from Hamlet, a local pig.
