Margarito-Pacquiao bout takes hit

Former welterweight champion Antonio Margarito was denied a license to fight in California, leaving a hurdle in the way of a proposed bout against Manny Pacquiao.

The state athletic commission voted 5-1 to deny Margarito a license after a 5 1/2-hour hearing in Los Angeles, where Margarito testified that he knew nothing about the illegal wraps and blamed his trainer Javier Capetillo, whom he fired.
