The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo kept its Mountaineer Sky Ride closed Thursday as it awaited a replacement wire after a malfunction Wednesday led fire crews to evacuate 19 people from the tram.
“Once the part is replaced, and all safety checks are conducted, the (ride) will re-open for public use,” the Colorado Springs zoo said in a statement this afternoon.
The problem was linked to internal wiring from the stop gate to the Sky Ride’s computer, causing an error code that stopped the ride, the zoo stated.
