Jason Bateman brings his skill at playing an amiable yet flawed everyman to “The Switch,” a romantic comedy about family planning gone awry. Co-starring Jennifer Aniston, Juliette Lewis, Jeff Goldblum, and Thomas Robinson as the introspective offspring. PG-13. 1 hour, 41 minutes.

Summer lovin’

Miley Cyrus handled the music and the lead role in “The Last Song,” now on DVD, a coming-of-age romance adapted from the novel by Nicholas Sparks. Fans say appealing characters and heartfelt storytelling elevate this film from rest of the chick-flick pack. PG.
