FORT CARSON, Colo.—Fort Carson is holding a 1-mile “Run for the Fallen” to honor servicemen and women killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Participants in the Saturday morning event will wear bibs with the names of fallen soldiers.

Similar events are scheduled nationwide on Saturday.

The Run for the Fallen started in 2008 as a run from Fort Irwin, Calif., to Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va. Last year, more than 5,400 people participated in Run for the Fallen events.
