A 33-year-old man convicted of killing a tattoo parlor operator has been sentenced to life in prison plus 34 years.
Tyrone Williams was found guilty in June of first-degree murder and aggravated robbery in connection with the Aug. 22, 2007, slaying of Joshua Trobaugh, 27, at Trobaugh’s business, Mr. Tank’s Tattoos, 6640 E. Colfax Ave.
According to prosecutors, Williams and a co-defendant, Dewayne O’Bannon, 28, entered the tattoo parlor with weapons, demanded money, and then fatally shot Trobuagh.
O’Bannon was previously sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Williams was charged in 2008 while serving time in Denver-area jails on unrelated charges.
He had been previously arrested numerous times on weapons, drug and domestic violence charges.
He was arrested in 2004 in the death of Anthony M. Wallace, 32, who was shot multiple times outside his home at 1340 Klamath St.
The charges were later dismissed and Williams was released.
