Kathleen Bennett of Estes Park is the recipient of this week’s $25 gas card for her simple but savvy idea for packing lighter.

“Most of our travel suitcases are crammed with clothes — too many clothes and often the wrong attire for our vacation activities. To pack lightly, remember the most important clothing item: wrinkle-free black slacks.”

Bennett adds that everything matches black slacks. “Add lightweight, sporty and dressy shirts, and you’ve got a week’s worth of attire taking up only one corner of your suitcase.”

We also have to give an honorable mention to Pat Williamson of Littleton for making us laugh. Her suggestion: “The most efficient way I have found to pack lightly is to leave my husband at home.”
