Arapahoe County deputies this afternoon responded to a report of a drowning in the Cherry Hills Heights neighborhood, but have released little information.
They said the death appeared to be accidental and no foul play is suspected.
Neighbors said the woman at the home on South Columbine Circle where authorities had gathered has a swimming pool in her back yard. They believed she was in her 60s and lived alone.
The neighborhood in unincorporated Arapahoe County is just east of University Boulevardand north of Hampden Avenue, and is surrounded by Denver, Englewood and Cherry Hills Village.
Neighbor Katty Stealler said there are about 50 homes in Cherry Hills Heights. She said her kids have trick-or-treated at the woman’s home on Columbine Circle, but she he doesn’t know her well.
A man who drove up to the home identified himself as the son-in-law of the woman who lived there and asked a TV cameraman not to take a picture of the house.
