Guanella Pass Road, the 22-mile scenic alpine route between Clear Creek and Park counties, is closed indefinitely to through traffic because of the risk of rock slide, according to Clear Creek County officials.

The summit cannot be accessed from Interstate 70 and Georgetown and can only be reached from U.S. 285 at Grant on the south until further notes.

The road is closed indefinitely at Clear Lake because of rock instability, according to the county.

Delays can be expected on other parts of the route because of ongoing road work, scheduled from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. Closures also , and 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays, according to the county.
