DENVER — One Denver International Airport carrier, Mexicana Airlines, shut down over the weekend, and another, Frontier Airlines, promised a new international flight.

Mexicana declared bankruptcy Aug. 3 and ceased flying Saturday.

On its Twitter feed Sunday, Frontier Airlines promised to announce a new international destination from DIA early today.

Mexico and Costa Rica are the airline’s current international markets.
