Technology and skiing will come together in a new way this coming season at Vail Resorts, where radio frequency scanners and chips embedded in lift tickets will allow skiers to track their lift rides, vertical feet skied and number of ski days.
Skiers and riders can access the data from personal computers or smart phones. The so-called EpicMix technology also will alert skiers if their Facebook friends are skiing and show their location on the mountain.
