SUPERIOR — A condo-complex fire that destroyed three units and damaged several others last week started in the area near an air-conditioning unit behind the home where two young girls were inside and narrowly escaped, the Daily Camera reported.
Rocky Mountain Fire Protection District Chief Mike Tombolato said the air-conditioning unit, which could have caught fire because of an electrical malfunction or something like a mouse nest inside, is being sent to a lab for tests.
