The Rockies moved to add depth to their bullpen Tuesday by acquiring veteran right-hander Manny Delcarmen from Boston for minor-leaguer Chris Balcom-Miller.

Delcarmen, 28, was 3-2 with a 4.70 ERA with the Red Sox this season. He compiled 44 innings with 23 earned runs and 32 strikeouts in 48 games for the Red Sox.

Delcarmen was in his sixth major-league season with the Red Sox and is 11-6 with a 3.89 in 289 career games.

Balcom-Miller, 21, 6-7, 3.31 ERA in 19 starts single-A Asheville. in 108 2/3 innings, he allowed 86 hits and struck out 117. He was selected by the Rockies in the sixth round of the 2009 draft.
