DENVER—Denver native Dusti Gurule has been appointed as the regional representative for U.S. Labor Secretary Hilda Solis in Colorado, New Mexico, Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma and Nebraska.
Solis made the announcement Thursday.
Gurule is based in Denver and has been executive director of the Latina Initiative since 2004. She also is an appointee of the Denver Latino Commission.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Chicano studies from the Metropolitan State College of Denver and a master’s degree in nonprofit management from Regis University in Denver.
