Six points:

Travon Patterson’s 18-yard pass play was his first trip to the end zone since 2005, when he was a senior at Long Beach (Calif.) Poly High School. The transfer played 33 games for USC but never scored.

The record:

When Scotty McKnight sets a record, he does it with an exclamation point. The senior receiver’s CU record for career receptions came on a 27-yard touchdown pass. He has 171 career catches.

Big hits:

Midway through the third quarter, Patterson was going around the right side of the line, but as he jumped over a couple of down linemen, he got popped by safety Ivory Herd, who was coming full steam. Runner-up was Rams QB Pete Thomas taking a high-low shot from Anthony Perkins and Jon Major on a fourth-quarter scramble.
