Getting your player ready...

Height: 5-feet-4.

Weight: 105 pounds.

Age: 17. Born: Feb. 24, 1993, in Las Gatos, Calif.

High school sports: Cross country (defending Class 5A champion, third in 2008) and track (won 3,200 meters in 2008).

Grade-point average: 4.1.

Class: Senior.

My favorite subject: Anatomy.

My favorite athlete: Emily Sisson.

My favorite team: All of the University of Colorado teams.

What I listen to: I’m all over the place, a wide range.

The best thing on my training table: Sweet potatoes.

Premeet ritual: My teammates and I stick lucky pennies in the pockets of our running shorts.

Time management tip: I try to do some homework during class. I don’t know if that’s advice to give, but when you play sports, you don’t have time to procrastinate. And I never turn on the TV.

Planned career: Considering medicine and veterinary work.

My family: Parents Cindy and Steve, brother Derek.

I would love to visit: Some place exotic, like Thailand.

What high school sports mean to me: I think they’re fun. They let you get on top of your work. Sports kids are more dedicated and they involve a lot of balance. It’s good because you don’t have the pressure of collegiate sports. High school sports should be fun. And you meet people, especially in big schools.
