PALMER LAKE — A 12-year-old boy was stabbed in the cheek and neck Tuesday afternoon just after middle and high school students were let off a bus near Palmer Lake Elementary School, The Gazette reported.
Palmer Lake police took into custody another 12-year-old boy who they believe stabbed the victim. Police had the name of the alleged assailant and contacted his family, Police Chief Kieth Moreland said.
The victim had one deep stab wound near his carotid artery, but the wound was not life-threatening, Moreland said.
Officials believe the assailant used a pocket knife.
