Offense: Pass
QB Kyle Orton’s 295 yards passing while under siege is all that keeps this from being a thumbs down. The Broncos didn’t run it well enough or finish enough drives.
Defense: Fail
One sack, no turnovers and two late face-mask penalties on Ryan McBean on the Jaguars’ game-winning drive contributed to the final tally.
Special teams: Fail
After a quality performance for much of the preseason, the Broncos surrendered kickoff returns of 46 and 53 yards to go with a 17-yard punt return by the Jaguars.
Coaching: Fail
The package for Tim Tebow was off the board early after three plays on first down. Broncos finished with 70 yards worth of penalties.
Game balls
* QB Orton: He threw the late interception, but he stood in for a full day’s worth of pounding.
* WRs Eddie Royal and Brandon Lloyd: The two combined for 215 yards receiving, 117 of those from Lloyd.
* LB D.J. Williams: Was limping slightly after the game but was credited with 11 tackles.
