Two thieves couldn’t find money in a bank late Thursday afternoon in Keenesburg, so they robbed the 75-year-old janitor instead, according to the Weld County Sheriff’s Department.

The pair overpowered the janitor as he took out the trash from the Colorado East Bank at 550 East Woodward Avenue at about 5:40 p.m., Deputy Shane Scofield said in an e-mail.

They ultimately took his wallet and his white GMC Sonoma pickup, Scofield said.

Both of the pair were described as white, about 5 feet, 5 inches to 5 feet, 8 inches tall and 125 to 135 pounds.

One was wearing a stocking cap and bandana, and the other wore a woman’s nylon stocking over his face and a baseball cap turned backwards.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-9477 or the Weld County Sheriff’s Department at 970-356-4015.
