A Fort Carson major who worked as a U.S. Army contracting officer in Afghanistan and Iraq has been charged with accepting bribes from two foreign nationals whose companies were awarded contracts, the Gazette in Colorado Springs reports.

Roderick D. Sanchez of Fountain was charged in U.S. District Court in Denver on Tuesday with one count of bribery of a public official, the newspaper said. If convicted, Sanchez could face up to 15 years in prison plus a $250,000 fine.
