Police in Colorado Springs have arrested an armed robbery suspect accused of hitting the same pizza delivery man two days in a row.
On Wednesday police responded to 1130 S. Chelton Road on a report of a stick-up involving a 61-year-old pizza delivery driver, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department crime blotter.
The victim told police the robber “pulled out a silver 22-caliber Luger handgun and demanded cash.” The pizza man said he handed over the cash and the robber fled.
The victim gave police a detailed description of the robber: A young black man, about 17, 5-feet 6-inches tall, 135 pounds, wearing a gray sweatshirt over the blue athletic jersey and jeans.
The pizza man also told police the same armed robber held him up on Tuesday at 2137 Delta Drive.
On Wednesday night an officer spotted a man walking on Chelton Road near Fountain Boulevard who matched the description, including the clothing, police said.
Police stopped the man and found him to be carrying a .22 caliber Luger handgun, according to the blotter.
The armed pedestrian, who was not named, was arrested as a suspect in the pizza delivery robberies among other possible charges, police said.
