Keith Humerickhouse of the Glenwood Springs Golf Club shot a 2-under-par 68 in the second round and increased his lead heading into the final round of the Colorado Golf Association Mid-Amateur Championship at Fort Collins Country Club.
Humerickhouse is at 8-under 132 going into today’s final round, six strokes ahead of Danny Riskam of Meridian Golf Club. The only other player within 10 strokes of the lead is Scott Mendelsohn of Highlands Ranch Golf Club, who is at 141.
Boulder cyclist shines.
Taylor Phinney of Boulder became only the second athlete to win a USA Cycling professional time trial national championship Saturday.
Phinney completed the 30.7-mile rolling course in a winning time of 41:02.51. Runner-up Levi Leipheimer finished in 41:02.65. Bernard Vanulden was third in 42.14.97.
