GREELEY — Dylan Orms has been waiting for that moment when he could carry Northern Colorado on his shoulders and lift it to victory.
That moment came Saturday as the junior quarterback threw two touchdown passes and ran for two scores in the Bears’ 35-21 victory over Idaho State in a Big Sky Conference game at Nottingham Field.
Orms’ best game as a UNC player came on the same day he threw his first career interception, but that was about the only mistake he made.
Orms was 18-of-24 for 188 yards and the two touchdowns and showed off his scrambling ability with 58 gross yards rushing, though his net total was only 5 yards after sacks were deducted.
He also did it behind a banged-up offensive line, which was without starting left guard Amal Gumbs and lost right guard Alex Shapiro to an injury in the first half.
